PCCED holds CETS and PC training in Bohol

The Philippine Center for Civic Education and Democracy (PCCED) with the support of the24cd2_bce2ddf923e44eb29c1a7bd21a657b94e Department of Education Bohol Division recently conducted a 3-day training seminar on Civic Education and Project Citizen that was attended by Forty-five (45) social studies teachers coming from public secondary schools in Jagna and the third (3rd) Congressional District last June 12-15, 2015 at the BPSTEA Seminar Hall, Tamblot Tagbilaran City.

 Civic Education Training Seminars is a program of PCCED designed to help Social Studies teachers integrate civic education into the existing curriculum: love for country in Philippine History, civic virtues in Asian History, democratic values and participation in World History, economic citizenship in Economics and  Contemporary Issues. Dr. Paul Dumol and Dr. Mariae24cd2_8c2d4009f7f04e8d82f01c52f6a61b39 Riza Bondal from University of Asia and the Pacific who are also members of PCCED  served as the resource persons/lecturers.
Project Citizen aims to develop in students a commitment to active citizenship. This is achieved through the help of teacher-moderators who are dedicated in participating on seminars and training workshops regarding concepts of citizenship and good governance.   After these trainings, teacher-moderators will impart to their students what they have learned during the training in a classroom-based setting. For Project Citizen, the University of Bohol is PCCED’s partner together with Samahan ng mga Guro ng Aralin Panlipunan (SAGAP).
